A directed lesson every two weeks will provide you with the opportunity to express your creativity. Learn about substrates, gels, compatible mediums, color theory, composition and various painting techniques. We will work on full sheets of watercolor paper or stretched canvas. Critiques are ongoing and weekly. Enjoy painting through discovery and experimentation. Class meets four times per month. Learn traditional and creative watercolor techniques and how to use color (mixing, avoiding "mud", choosing color schemes, correcting mistakes with stainers & blockers, and selecting brands of paint). Mix, mingle, float and glaze your way to beautiful paintings. Drawing and composition will also be explored. Give it a try! This has became a wonderful tradition for this class, and everyone has so much fun. You may find out that you are an Abstract painter or an Expressionist. You may find out that you love a media that you never though that you would like. This is the purpose of the summer. We try new things in new ways and have a lot of fun doing it. There is no pressure to produce great paintings, just to play and see what happens. This is one of the reasons so many creative, successful artists have come out of this program. An Evening Interlude with WatercolorLibit JonesTuesday, 7pm to 9:30pmSession S1, S2 • Levels 1 & 2Course code 904A class for all levels, students will enjoy this class focusing on traditional and creative watercolor techniques. Explore color, composition, and the many ways to use watercolor. Please note this Dazzio class meets for 6 weeks. During the first class, beginners will have their materials provided and additional materials will be discussed. Tuition: $120 members, $150 nonmembers The Magic of WatercolorLibit JonesWednesday, 9:30am to 4pmLevels 3-5Course code 913This class helps you develop better compositions, choices of color, and helps you develop your own personal technique in watercolor painting. The class begins with an informal group critique and the rest of the day is devoted to painting. There is a one hour break for lunch. Tuition: $130 members, $160 nonmembers Professional CritiqueJudi DazzioThursday, 9:30am to 4pmLevel 5Course code 907This group of professional artists meets every Thursday. Admission is by invitation only. Although most of the year critique is the main part of this class, in the summer this group will be experimenting with new media and trying new materials. Using the Figure in Watermedia PaintingsJudi DazzioFriday, 9:30am to 4pm1st and 3rd Fridays only!Levels 3-5Course code 908Experience the only Dazzio class using the figure or figures in traditional and creative compositions. Drawing in several ways with a variety of materials, along with painting practice and learning to see in different ways - make this class very unique. Acrylic PaintingJudi DazzioFriday, 9:30am to 4pm2nd and 4th Fridays only!Students of all levelsCourse code 911This class meets on alternating Fridays, the second and fourth Friday of the month. Acrylic class is always like a workshop, so that no matter when you enter, you will begin working on the latest assignment. It is beneficial to have some knowledge of acrylic painting before joining the class. It is also important that you are willing to try new things. This class may study color theory one month and experiment with a new technique the next. It is always done in a fun atmosphere and each artist maintains a positive attitude. You will, over time, find your own style because you will have been introduced to so many varying ways to work. This is an exciting class. All classes taught by Judi Dazzio require a pre-registration
