Come with ideas of where you would like to take your jewelry designs. Intermediate students will be assisted in adding to their skills and the complexity of their creations. Students may supply their own silver. Come prepared with some ideas and let's have fun! Explore the endless possibilities with this unique material, Precious Metal Clay (PMC). PMC is a clay body with fine silver particles in it used for creating jewelry in a very unique way. It can be textured, carved or set with gemstones to create beautiful beads, jewelry or small objects. Step-by-step instructions will be given to guide students successfully through their projects. In this two-day workshop students will use PMC 3; the newest type of PMC. PMC is a clay body with fine silver particles in it. It is a really fun way to create jewelry or small precious items for yourself or for gifts. You can texture it, carve it, and use gemstones to form wonderful silver beads and other jewelry items. If you do not have experience with PMC you will be happy to know that many of the tools we will be using, you probably already have in your home. This workshop introduces beaders to metalsmithing concepts particularly geared towards beaders. Learn to make crimps, bead caps, cones, simple catches, and space bars.
