Encaustic Painting

Materials fee payable to the instructor: $20.00 for an assortment of beeswax and encaustic mediums.
All students please bring the following:
- An electric heating plate with a flat surface to place pans of wax. Make sure the plate has a dial temperature setting and Teflon coating.
- One heat gun (available at Ace Hardware or Home Depot)
- A basic set of Encaustics & Oil Sticks in basic colors (available to order from R&F paints)
- Small Masonite panels and a watercolor pad (at least 140 lbs.)
- Clean tin cans, ten or more (like tuna, soup, or small juice cans)
- Natural bristle brushes (the small 1" cheap brushes at Home Depot are good!)
- Several palette knives and other tools such as: scrapers, knives, ceramic tools, pencils, and pliers.
- Collage materials, string, cloth or other materials for embedding in the wax.
- Optional - a bagged lunch from home!
