Colored Pencils

course code 265

Mary Lee Zink

  • Set of sharpened regular colored pencil and/or watercolor pencils. (If you only want to purchase one kind, get the watercolor pencils..they can be used with or without water). I recommend a artist grade brand like Derwent's, if you think you might really enjoy using them, but if you are just expirementing, the cheaper brands like Crayola do just fine.
  • Drawing pencils - an HB or #2 is fine
  • Erasers - one like Magic Rub will work
  • Small roll of masking tape
  • Hand held pencil sharpener
  • Board or smooth surface to put underneath paper to and to draw on
  • Drawing paper and watercolor paper
--a small pad of drawing paper or a few sheets is fine
--watercolor paper should be cold press or hot press, but not rough. The smoother the surface the better. Here again, a few sheets or a pad will be fine. Any other odd sheets that you happen to have...I will be bringing many different kinds and colors to work on too.
