This course will help you understand the features on your digital camera and teach you when and how to use them. Learn how to move files onto the computer to organize and save your photographs. You will be introduced to Photoshop and shown the difference that it can make to digital images. There will be demonstrations, explanations, and in-class projects. You will also have assignments between classes for critique so bring your camera and camera instruction manual to class. You will learn how to photograph individuals, couples, families, and groups. You will also learn professional techniques to help you get relaxed comfortable poses. There will be assignments, demonstrations, explanations and in-class projects. Come learn to take better pictures of the family at holidays, get-togethers and on vacation. This class will cover how to add more impact to your photographs of buildings, shopping areas, restaurants, outdoor sculptures, and landscapes by using perspective, framing, and composition. Class will take part in two field trips working on both interior lighting and ways to photograph exteriors with both day and twilight. Students discuss digital workflow, equipment used and working with Photoshop. Weekly assignments and helpful critiques are included. Learn the practical applications of photographic lighting and develop an understanding of light and how it works. Students learn creative ways to push many of the powerful features in Photoshop to create surreal works of art. Llearn how to put together digital montage, blending many images to form a single piece of artwork, and make a photographic plan in order to photograph your ideas. Previous Photoshop experience is required. Lab fee: $10 Multimedia StorytellingJames BranamanS1: Saturday & Sunday, June 14 & 15, 10am to 4pmS2: Saturday & Sunday, August 9 & 10, 10am to 4pmLevels 2-5Course code 798Learn how to tell stories through still photography and audio to give your audience a more complete storytelling experience, ideal for online presentation. Learn techniques on using audio equipment to gather ambient sound and interviews through hands-on experience and how to combine sound using audio editing software. Learn how to shoot with multimedia in mind, then edit and sync those photographs with the audio as a package. Getting your work online will also be discussed. By the end of this course the class will produce a multimedia project which will be published online.
