A Clear Risk: New Works by Duncan McClellan
Working in Italy and Florida, Duncan McClellan has created new work
that assumes a different direction, taking the viewer on a philosophical
journey. The medium of glass implies "risk". Now the glass itself recreates
a vision of some of the risks inherent in life, issues of personal safety,
taking responsibility, or the importance of character in the face of
danger.
Woman's Place
Mixed Media by Kathie Olivas, Madonna Phillips & Sabrina Small
Collaborators Susan Dollmaker Andrews and Carolyn Rose Fellman join
Betsy Orbe Lester for a return visit to The Arts Center. This invitational
exhibit with artwork and installations by fifteen nationally known artists
from Florida and the Northeast includes Lynn and John Whipple, David
Bewley, Cathy Rose, Jane Dennis and Hazel Collins. Every artist reconsiders
the genre and creates a doll using their own particular mix of style
and technique.
Filling the Cup: Mixed Media by Lynn & John Whipple
Using objects such as plants, seeds, and beeswax, the Whipples transport
the viewer to a world of calm and light, drawing inspiration from their
lakeside home. Works include individual and collaborative paintings,
sculpture, and mixed media installations.

Fiber and metal combine to find purpose: as an object, to convey a
mood, or to make an historical reference.
