London NOW

London NOW: Are You in Love Yet?

What do breathtaking baroque interiors, a dying wasp, and animals caught in compromising positions have in common? These are subjects employed in the extraordinary upcoming exhibition London Now: Are you in Love Yet?, featuring works by the rising stars of London's current art scene.

Using such varied media as video, sound, painting, photography, and drawings, these artists draw the viewer into a contemporary fantasy world, revealing the profound impact the city of London has on the art and the artists who create it.

Grand Ma's Hands: 100 Years of African-American Quilts

Grand Ma's Hands

Mounted in tandem with downtown's new Studio @ 620, the functional works of art featured in this enriching exhibition were created between 1880 and 1970, and each speaks volumes of its history, from the Underground Railroad to the Civil Rights Movement. Along with London Now, Grand Ma's Hands is part of the Center's educational component Bridging Cultures, in which students from all over the county will tour The Arts Center galleries and take part in a community-related art project.
