Experience the heat! The artists of the Sigma Glass Studio

St. Petersburg is home to one of the largest glass-blowing facilities in the Southeast - Sigma Glass Studio, run by artist Chuck Boux. Artists come from all over the country to work in his studio. This exhibition presents several of these excellent artists' works. Marlene Rose, a cast-glass artist from Clearwater, Tampa artist Duncan McClellan, and Texas artist and Arts Center artist-in-residence Jodi Bove will exhibit along with local artists Chuck, Boux Harry Boux, Todd Logan and Vasile Loznianu.


Cahoots: Gail and Zachariah Rieke

Working both collaboratively and separately, Santa Fe artists Gail and Zachariah Rieke specialize in found objects for their creations. Gail is best known for her interactive travel journals, which will be a highlight of the exhibition. Both artists hold MFAs from the University of Florida in Gainesville and have taught at several institutions, including UF, the University of Alberta, and the College of Santa Fe. Their art is in the collections of the Albuquerque Museum, Santa Fe Institute, University of Florida, and the Museum of Fine Arts in Santa Fe, which recently hosted a retrospective of their work.


Objects of Desire: Florida Society of Goldsmiths Juried Exhibition

Held in conjunction with the Society of North American Goldsmith's annual conference, this juried exhibition features the finest in metalwork and adornment from the members of FSG. Tim McCreight of Portland, ME, serves as juror. McCreight is a metalsmith, designer, author, and teacher who has been working in metals since 1970. Along the way he has published a dozen books and has written for numerous magazines. He is past-president of SNAG, and has served on the boards of Haystack, the American Craft Council, and the Precious Metal Clay Guild. Selected artists include John Cogswell from Clintondale, N.Y; Rebecca McLaughlin Neigher from Raleigh, N.C; and Barbara Becker Simon, Carol Jenrette and Jan Wunsch from Florida.
