12th Annual All Florida Juried Exhibition

Juror Richard Vine, Managing Editor of Art in America, chose 33 works from 500 entries, 22 of which are from Bay Area artists. Among the artists chosen from our community are: Jack Breit, digital imaging; Nancy Cervenka, film sculpture; Leslie Fry, mixed media sculpture; Rose Marie Prins, mixed media; Hoang Van-Bui, installation; and Gini Rollins, jewelry.


David Williams: Old Meets New--Painterly Cyanotypes

In 2001, former St. Petersburg Times illustrator David Williams received a Florida Individual Artist Fellowship and spent the month of July 2002 working in a studio in Florence, Italy. There he learned a printing process called cyanotype, which uses sunlight and hand-coated paper to produce a vivid blue and white, unique print. This exhibit showcases this work. Williams fans will enjoy a new take on his treatment of pop icons.

Working with non-traditional types of media, Dunedin artist Denis Gaston creates a brand new body of work exploring the theme of the body as a vessel. Gaston uses collage, sand, gels, oil and acrylic on large-scale mixed media, canvas and masonite to create a massive body of work that is highly emotional.


Artful Pride

Artful Pride is an exhibition of works by local gay and lesbian artists. Media include paintings, drawings, papier mache and clay sculpture. All work is figurative in nature. Artists include: Ray Smenner, Felipe Packard & Ricardo de la Vega, Kyu Yamamoto, and Lisa Kirksey.

This exhibition was be held in conjunction with other St. Pete Pride Festival events.


Eckerd College Senior Thesis Exhibition

Gregory E. Gordon, who has been a printmaker and papermaker for over 25 years, will be the featured artist with his large-scale prints. Other participating students include: Lonne Ayer-Ziegler, Samantha Goresh, Kate Heilman, Bobby Chase, Justin Erickson, Katie Hoch, Anne Holth, Holly Allen, Shaunte Moore, Sheryl Weinstein, and Casey McDonough. All media will be represented, including photography, painting, mixed media, sculpture, and clay.

Word & Image: ...Let Freedom Ring
Pinellas County High Schools

Pinellas County high school students from grades 9 - 12 interpret "freedom" through visual art combined with the written word. Awards will be announced during the Second Saturday Gallery Walk at 6:30pm.
