Past Exhbitions -- July 2005Marks and Metaphors: 2005 Members' Exhibition
This exhibition challenges members to create works based on symbols or metaphors that have served as inspiration. Each piece is accompanied by a written statement explaining the meaning and significance of the symbol. Rose Marie Prins: EnigmasPrins literally bursts through her work - intensely personal mixed media collages that employ chemical reactions to create fissures and wounds, only to be stitched back together in a supreme act of aesthetic healing. Rebecca Skelton: RondoSkelton's latest series of paintings refers to a musical form of repetition. These images, conveying timeless refrains such as redemption and rebirth, will be exhibited as a continuous frieze around the length of the gallery. Cat Moon Do: William Leavengood & Michelle Feulner-CastroPlaywright and author Leavengood's work is deeply rooted in familial ties. In Cat Moon Do, Leavengood and illustrator Michelle Feulner-Castro record the tale of four cats and their fable filled quest for a lost friend. |
