James Branaman
is a freelance photojournalist based in St. Petersburg, Florida. His photographs have been published by The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune and The Seattle Times as well as many other publications. His work has been recognized by awards from the National Press Photographers Association, William Randolph Hearst Foundation, Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar, College Photographer of the Year, and the Society of Professional Journalists. Branaman received a degree in general art from Eastern Kentucky University in 2000 and a degree in photojournalism from Western Kentucky University in 2004.
