Marcela Estevez

was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina where she got her Masters in Fine Arts from the National School of Art Prilidiano Pueyrredón. After graduation, she taught art classes in her private studio and art classes and workshops for children at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Buenos Aires. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibits and has received national and international recognition. Marcela's second career as an Art conservator guided her to the conservation of rare books and to the world of bookbinding.

She has taught classes in various bookbinding techniques and has delivered talks about book conservation at several conferences. She has served as a book conservator for different institutions including the National Library in Argentina and Schlesinger Library, Harvard University, Boston, Massachusetts and on a consulting basis with the Ringling Museum in Sarasota, Florida.
